I love the total difference between Facebook and Tumblr. When you post somthing about tigers or human rights on Facebook the kind of reactions you get are “who cares. that aint my problem”, but when you post that stuff on Tumblr and you get “awesome post, or really interesting im going to reblog this”

I just wanted to give people the low down on what companies are having commercials today during the Super Bowl…and how bad the company is for the world. But remember, the Supreme Court reversed a century old law and now these people have more rights and power then we do. Thankfully, they have our best interests at heart.

Anheuser-Busch (Budweiser, Bud Lite)

- They are ranked number 53 on the ‘Toxic 100’ list, a list of U.S. corporations and companies responsible for the most pollution. They are a beer company…need I say more. And remember…’when you say Budweiser, you’ve said it all’

Coca Cola

- The Coca-Cola Company has been involved in a number of controversies and lawsuits related to its relationship with human rights violations and environmental damage. In fact, their is a whole wikipedia page called ‘Criticism Of Coca Cola,’ so I’m not gonna list them all; it would be long.

Mar’s Candy (Snickers, M&M’)

- Mars has come under criticism by PETA for funding animal tests which are inhumane, including a study regarding angiogenesis and spatial memory in which mice were force fed catechins, a candy ingredient, compelled to swim in paint, then dissected. Other experiments involved life-threatening cardiac puncture of mice with inadequate anesthesia. These experiments are not required by law and harmless tests can be done on humans.

Focus On The Family

-Their underlying message is anti-anything that isn’t a conservative christian lifestyle; read: Nazism). These guys are a complete antithesis of progression, feminism, and personal choices. They take a strong stance against same-sex marriage. They are really hoping for abortion to get outlawed and their commercials are nothing but propaganda. They have been charged with manipulating research to support their stance on homosexuality, etc., etc., etc.,.

Hyundai

- Honestly? They are a car company.
I don’t feel like typing out a lot about them.

Sprint (Boost Mobile)

- Sprint Nextel provided U.S. government agencies with its subscribers’ GPS locations over 8 million times in a one year period between September 2008 and October 2009.The disclosures occurred by way of a special portal which Sprint developed specifically for government officials, which enables users to automatically obtain Sprint customer GPS locations without submitting surveillance warrants.

Frito-Lay (Doritos)

-Well, I couldn’t find much of them. I mean, it’s obvious a company that makes snack food is probably hiding a lot and I did find a few lawsuits filed by ex-employees stating it’s the worst company to work for and that they have no concern for your personal life or beliefs. But…I did find that they don’t used GMO corn for their snacks; I’m TRYING to be un-biased, see?

Godaddy.com

- You mean besides the grade school ‘sexual’ commercials that would only turn on an audience of inbred people who have never been with a women before? Kudos to the women who do that commercial too, way to go. They are still trying to use the same commercial for 6 years in a row, (go to our website to see the UNCENSORED commercial, really?) but when your target audience doesn’t mature, why should you?

Bridgestone

- They are a rubber conglomerate. Period. Free trade has helped this industry to blossom. Read: Local farmers and economies suffer for this while the elite assholes make all the money. This market is growing, and any growth of this sort is detrimental to rain forests and the environment. The same environmental damage being done because of palm oil plantations is also being done from this industry.

They use leather. You know where they get leather from. They get it from cows, horses, sheep, lamb, pigs, and goats, etc. who are slaughtered for their meat. As a vegan, you know how I feel about this inhumane industry.

Monster has recently been to blame in several instances of personal information theft. In less than two weeks, in August 2007, Monster had numerous leaks that resulted in the loss of millions of customers’ data to identity theft.

In January 2009, there was another large scale leak at its UK based site monster.co.uk, in which demographic information of up to 4.5 million people was obtained by hackers.
Levi’s (Dockers)

Levi’s has a close business relationship with Wal-Mart and we all know how well they treat local economies, and employees. Levi outsources jobs and have been caught putting ‘made in the USA’ labels on pants that they knew were made in China under conditions that were described as ‘slave like.’

Dove

- Dove products contain many carcinogens (cancer causing substances) and neurotoxins (chemicals that adversely affect the nervous system reducing emotional well being, mental alertness, coordination and other functions associated with intelligence).

Chrysler (Dodge Charger)

- They are a car company. Period. And their commercial was all about how guys are sacrificing a lot for their women like…um watching TVshows with them, um…recycling, and eating fruit and the Charger is the ‘last hope for men’ or something like that. Wow…nice one guys.

Also, years ago they pulled commercials from the Ellen show, calling it ‘controversial’, infuriating gay-rights groups (and hopefully everybody else too).

Ford

- Ranked number 17 on the ‘toxic one’ list for their environmental damage.

Ford’s Argentine subsidiary was accused of collaborating with the Argentine 1976-1983 military dictatorship, actively helping in the political repression of intellectuals and dissidents that was pursued by said government.

“In a lawsuit initiated in 1996 by relatives of some of the estimated 600 Spanish citizens who disappeared in Argentina during the “Dirty War”, evidence was presented to support the allegation that much of this repression was directed by Ford and the other major industrial firms. According to a 5,000-page report, Ford executives drew up lists of “subversive” workers and handed them over to the military task-forces which were allowed to operate within the factories. These groups allegedly kidnapped, tortured and murdered workers—at times allegedly within the plants themselves.” The company denied the allegations, and no decision was ever made. They also have been accused of having Nazi ties, and most say that they were aware of the dangers that their ‘Pinto’ brand car had before they released it.

Dr. Pepper Snapple Group (Dr. Pepper)

-They are currently involved in a lawsuit for labeling their Snapple Iced Tea as ‘all natural’ when it was sweetened with High Fructose Corn Syrup. They have a huge ecological footprint as well.
